In the music video “Young Forever” by Jay Z, he is describing a time in life when all he wants to do is live forever. In his example of being young he describes doing stupid things when your young like skateboarding, playing football, and break dancing. At the beginning of the video it starts out with a young boy in a pool. This remind you of a time when your young and you can go anywhere and kind of avoid trouble. As you get older over time you lose the passion and the thrill to do the things from when your young. This is how our culture is that most people want to live young and never grow up to be adult from how old we are getting to go back to the young glory days. Another example from the video, is that guys want to date young girl forever. The girls without wrinkles and beautiful ones are the ones that they want to date forever and they don’t want they ladies to get older. These examples from the video are very valid to the way that the culture is today. In the culture you see old guys trying to play sports and dance like they are young and if they are single they try to date younger woman then them. For the ladies they get plastic surgery and different things to there body to make them look young forever. That they will never get old and not have wrinkles. Jay Z also talks about the times of how smoking weed and drinking cold champagne, this is a well know fact that young people do this a lot of the time. Also in the culture today so many older people try to smoke weed to stay hip with the times. Champagne is a older generation thing but it has been pasted down to the young generation. It is just away that people in the society want to live today, young and never get old. They want to be able to skateboard, play football, and break dance for generations. Not just the times as when people are young. He is describing a time when you live in the past and never try for the things in your future. People in today’s society need not to live for there past but move on to there future. Just because there was glory days in the young ages there will also be fun time in there older ages.
