Discovery Channel commercial




I Love The World, a Discovery Channel commercial that starts out with two astronauts out in space. The two astronauts are gazing at the world and start to sing. Then the commercial starts to jump from one picture of an Africa tribe in the dessert to a clip of a large group of monks praying. Also during the video it shows another clip of thousands of people on a beach during a firework show all watching together then to music concert with hundreds of people coming together to watch their favorite artist perform. Another great connection this commercial draws is the work or on scientist to be just as the same as the two other scientists who could be miles apart. As well as the commercial showing the world and all the different types of people and beliefs, the people in the commercial are all singing along with a song and when it’s their video clip they sing about what they are doing.
During this commercial the Discovery Channel is trying to narrate to us that we are all connected to each other by the world. It shows a good example of how we all might act in a different way similar to how the African tribes ceremony’s consist of a lot of loud dancing and jumping around where as the monks ceremony’s consist of silent praying. Yet at the same time we are all connected by the fact that we are on the same planet and are surrounded by the same air, water and land. Also another perfect example of that is the music concert opposed to the people watching the firework shows. It shows that an enormous amount of people that don’t know each other can come together and watch the same show within the manner as one individual. The Discovery Channel also shows that people can be connected by what they do by the example of the scientists. This example shows that people around the world are performing the same tasks as one another to achieve a greater result, which connects them together and the world.
It is easy understand this commercial because you only have to have the fundamental knowledge of earth, the different types of people and how it basically unfolds. This is a smart selling advantage that The Discovery Channel used because it helps them become more easily associated with earth and all the diverse varieties of people living together within.
