Part 1
Hey everyone. My name is Kara Dyer. I am 18 years old and this is my first year of college at Whatcom. I am only in my second quarter, but I'm getting use to it. I am going to Bellingham Technical College for Dental Hygiene once I am done at Whatcom. I was born in Coupeville, WA and grew up in Hawaii for a few years. Then I moved back to Washington and I've been living here ever since. I don't mind the rainy weather too much. I love playing tennis and volleyball. They are my favorite sports. I love to play wii all the time, or when I can. I like knowing what is going on in the world, but it's kind of hard when I don't have cable at my apartment. I have a boyfriend I am living with right now. I enjoy listening to music alot, except for country music. It drives me nuts. I've had three jobs since high school, and my current job is working at Haggen.
Part 2
1. Texting
2. Typing
3. Notes in Class
4. Letters
5. Grocery Lists
My most frequently used form of writing would definitely have to be texting, although typing is a close second. I text quite often, but not as much as others. I just find it easy when you don't know if someone is too busy for a phone call or someting. I text pretty much everywhere - in the car, at school, on my breaks at work, places like that. I ususally just write responses to the texts I get, or ask a question to someone. I choose this type of writing because it's simple. You don't get hand cramps from using a writing utensil, and you don't have to be talking to that person directly if you don't want to. A simple text will do. This type of writing interferes when I am driving. I know it's dangerous, but I admit I do it. It's just a pathetic habit of mine. My life would definitely be not as social without it, because I text to keep in touch with my friends who are out of state, and my sisters who are off doing their own thing as well. I don't think it's a bad form of writing. It's very useful.
