The commercial is a commercial that takes place up in the country side and deals with the occurrence of a little squirrel running into the middle of the street to fetch an acorn that the little guy dropped down the tree he was on. Without knowing it, a car is driving up the road at high speeds. The squirrel then sees the car and screams at the top of his lungs and then other animals in the area of the squirrel in danger hear the squirrel deathly scream and join in the chorus to try and stop the car from hitting their furry friend. Near the end of the commercial the camera goes into the car and you see a man and a women. The man is driving but the woman began to scream loudly. The camera then switches back to the squirrel and you see him still screaming. It does that for a few minutes and finally shows the man turn the wheel of the car to avoid the squirrel. It uses the squirrel because the squirrel is a small, delicate species and most people would try to avoid them as much as possible. At the end of the commercial you see the logo of Bridgestone and so you know that they are trying to sell you Bridgestone tire.
The people who made this commercial used the squirrel and the country road to show that Bridgestone tires were the only tires capable of avoiding the squirrel at high speeds. The way they brought the squirrel and the lady to scream makes the squirrel seem like it was a little human. At the end of the commercial it said that Bridgestone was the official tires of the NFL. The NFL is like a great god to the Americans, and since so many people watch the super bowl, the tires are not just there to bring profit in to the organization. The tires bring people to watch the super bowl. They use the ability to bring animals to be able to speak and use it effectively to try and have people buy their product. They were really smart to show the commercial during the super bowl because so many Americans watch the great national game.
The myth of this add is that Bridgestone tires are the only ones able to avoid small animals at high speeds, but many people don’t see squirrels on the road to see if the tires can avoid them. They have false claims about their tires.
