In the commercial presented by Coca-Cola, we see a video game aspect of a former blockbuster videogame hit “Grand Theft Auto” in which the main character drives a car recklessly around the city and stops at a nearby mini-mart. He storms in and grabs a coke from the fridge and drinks it. Instead of stealing the coke he pays for it. He rushes towards an innocent driver of a very nice sports car and yanks him out of the car in what the act looks like he was about to steal the persons car. Instead, the driver is received a coke and goes on his way. As he walks he hands two stacks of cash to a sidewalk musician, he grabs a falling sack of money from a bank security officer and hands it back to him, gives a homeless man his jacket and into a car filled with beautiful ladies, and hits a purse snatcher and delivers the purse back to the old woman. The street is filled with people from the city and they all start singing “Give a little love and it all comes back to you” as the man walks off towards the empty street ahead of him.
What the commercial’s main point is instead of committing crime, do something good for your fellow neighbors and put a positive outlook on other people’s life. What Coca-Cola is delivering to the general audience is to not think about the doom and gloom and focus yourself with positive energy and make every day a great day.
